Fitness Practicum I will provide students with the skills required to design and deliver exercise programs for low risk individuals and group clients in a controlled environment. Particular attention will be given to application of instructional skills in today's fitness centre environment. Conducting initial client inductions, including basic screening, fitness appraisal, program development and exercise instruction. Designing individualized training programs. Critique technique and regularly appraise client's fitness and skill acquisition and modify their program accordingly. Students will complete a First Aid and CPR Certificate as part of the course requirements. Prerequisite: Enrolled in either 1171 BExSci, or 1604 BClinExPhys and completed 140CP of 1st and 2nd year courses, OR enrolled in Bachelor of Sport Development or 1615 Bachelor of Sport Development/Bachelor of Business
