Evidencing Impact (3999EDN)

Evidencing Impact in the Bachelor of Education program entails both course work and assessment and a professional experience placement in schools. This course will develop professional knowledge and practices for supporting student participation in learning, including strategies that are responsive to the learning strengths and needs of students from diverse backgrounds, and students with disabilities; and the reinforcement of understandings about teaching and assessment practices that respond to, and are informed by, evidence of impact on student learning. Students will be placed in schools for a total of 25 days. This professional experience placement (appropriate to the major pathway) will provide the pre-service teachers with the opportunity for further development of knowledge and practices using evidence of the impact their teaching has on student learning. Pre-requisite: students must have successfully completed 1999EDN and 2999EDN before enrolling in 3999EDN. Secondary students must also have completed at least one junior secondary curriculum course and be co-enrolled in one senior secondary curriculum course. To be eligible to attend the Professional Experience component of this course and to complete the course students must demonstrate 80% Attendance and 100% Engagement (see 4.2 for conditions). All Professional Experience courses are designated courses for the purpose of exclusion; if you fail you are listed for exclusion from the program of studies.
