This course provides an introduction to the distinctive conventions and practices of writing for assessment in university courses. It focuses on the study of and practice with rhetorically-based concepts such as genre, purpose, argumentation, and audience, and the strategies successful academic writers use to incorporate information and viewpoints from existing sources. This will enable you to analyse and meet expectations for writing and learning within your specific discourse communities.
