Understanding Australian Cities (1037ENV)

Understanding Australian Cities is an introductory overview of the origin, patterning and functioning of the urban system. The course specifically examines the dynamics of population, infrastructure, governance and culture in Australian cities. These understandings frame examination of the possibilities of planning intervention. This introductory course will allow students to better appreciate the range of planning challenges and the opportunities for further study. This course is delivered via weekly lectures and tutorials and is supplemented with web materials and readings.
