Introduction to Environmental Sustainability (1043SCG)

This course introduces students to the concept of environmental sustainability and its uses in solving real world problems. It explores the relationships between the natural, rural, industrial and urban environments and includes the study of the impact humans have upon nature. The course also considers the way environmental sustainability can be used to address environmental, economic and social issues in an integrated way. Assessment includes on-line tests, a written assignment, workshop exercises and an end of trimester examination. Incompatible: 1301ENV The Global Environment, 1181ENV Sustainable Development, 1161ENV Environmental Economics and Policy.
