This course introduces the practical application of dental technology and its relationship to dentistry and oral health. This course allows students time to develop and craft their skills in the precise technical application of design and construction of removable oral prostheses and appliances. It provides students with the opportunity to develop dexterity, hand-eye coordination and pay attention to detail using the skills gained in 1011DOH Introduction to Dental Technology. Students will have the opportunity to improve their skills within a commercial laboratory setting in the Prosthetic Laboratory that services the Griffith University Dental Clinic and externally on work experience (in own time). Prerequisite: 1011DOH. All year 1 courses must be successfully completed prior to proceeding to year 2 courses.
