Traditional and Contemporary Ritual (1914QCA)

The central purpose of this course is to foster recognition of the significance of ritual to Indigenous Australian Art making practices and to explore the ways of preserving and extending traditional principles of ritual and ceremony where applicable. It allows visual arts to be extended into othe art form areas including performance art, music, story telling and seeks to understand the relationship that ritual and ceremony have with law and custom in Indigenous history. Assessment is both practical and written.
