Environmental Anthropology (2416ENV)

Environmental Anthropology is a sub-field of Anthropology that takes an active role in examining the relationships between humans and their environment across space and time. The course uses the lens of Anthropology to help students, as future environmental scientists, planners and managers, develop an understanding of the cultural beliefs, values and practices that inform how societies relate to their environments. This diverse cultural knowledge, and the practical implications of understanding alternative ways of engaging with the environment, assists us in the search for sustainable ways to manage the earth's natural resources. Prerequisite: Completion of 80CP. Incompatible: 2011ENV Anthropological Perspectives
