Employers within the field of Human Services require students to be 'work ready'. This means that you need to graduate with a set of transferable generic skills, understand the nexus of theory and practice; recognise knowledge presented in unfamiliar contexts; and reflect by critiquing your own professional practice. Students must complete 52 days of supervised field placement (4 days per week). A strict requirement for this course is that students must undertake and complete Fit For Professional Practice requirements. These should have been completed by the end of your 1st year of study. Students must register for pre-placement by the end of Week 2, Trimester 1 to enrol in a Trimester 2 placement. Students must register for pre-placement by the end of Week 2, Trimester 2 to enrol in a Trimester 1 placement. Accelerated pathway students must register for pre-placement by the end of Week 2 Trimester 1 to enrol in a Trimester 3 placement. Pre-requisite: Human Service students must have completed 200CP to be eligible to complete the field placement and Human Services and Criminology and Criminal Justice students must have completed 280 to be eligible to complete the field placement. There is no RPL/Credit available for this course.
