Social Work Field Placement 1 (3012HSV)

Students are required to complete 500 hours (4 days per week for approximately 18 weeks) of practice based learning and engage in professional supervision with a social work qualified field supervisor. The course will focus on facilitating students' development of the skills, knowledge, attitudes and analyses necessary to enter the field as a social work practitioner. Learning tasks assessed on a pass/fail basis.  A strict requirement for this course is that students must undertake and complete pre-placement requirements in the trimester preceding the placement. Students must register for pre-placement by the end of Week 2, Trimester 1 to enrol in a Trimester 2 placement.  Students must register for pre-placement by the end of Week 2, Trimester 2 to enrol in a Trimester 1 placement. Prerequisites: All first and second year core courses. Corequisites: 3036HSV Social Work 1. Incompatible: 3112HSV_Y2 Social Work Field Placement 1
