Studies of Indigenous Australia (3030EDN)

This course focuses on enabling students to: understand how learning occurs in traditional cultures, and the central place of culture and knowledge ownership in this process; understand, within an historical framework, the factors impacting on Indigenous Australian learners in schools, particularly those for whom English is a second language; understand community protocols; know how to participate effectively in school-community partnerships in Indigenous communities to which they may be sent; be aware of "What Works", and the various programs of support for indigenous students.
