Through the study of various texts (written, visual, audiovisual) and the context in which they were produced, the course seeks to develop both linguistic and sociocultural competence. It combines the analysis of the texts with a study of key social, cultural, and political issues in contemporary Italy which are reflected in them. Grammar points are studied through exploration of examples in the texts, and in response to student demand. The course aims to consolidate students' proficiency at the "B2 Vantage" level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. PREREQUISITES: 2096LHS Italian 2B /2196LHS Italian 2B Enhanced (or equivalent). INCOMPATIBLE: 3294LHS Italian Literature and Society Enhanced.
