Strategic Planning Studio (3097ENV)

THIS COURSE IS RESTRICTED TO STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: 1279 / 1086 Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning 1512/1516 Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning/Bachelor of Science 1431/1432 Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning (Honours), 1658 Bachelor of Urban Planning (Honours), 1660 Bachelor of Urban Planning (Honours)/Bachelor of Science 1635 Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning(Honours)/Bachelor of Science. This studio will address the strategic and multi-disciplinary nature of broad scale regional planning. It could take the form of a conservation, community development or a resource management study and involve the preparation of a spatially based, geographic specific plan or policies. Emphasis will be given to scientific input and research techniques, handling of multiple objectives, integration of ecological, social, economic, cultural aspects, forecasting techniques, and to strategic thinking. Pre-requisite: Students must have passed 1027ENV Introductory Planning Studio or 1901ENG Design Studio 1, 1511ENV Environmental Planning Studio, and 2067ENV Development Processes Studio and completed 150 credit points or have the permission of the course convenor before enrolling in this course.
