This course describes the communication and work practice skills and knowledge required to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the various business industry contexts. It deals specifically with cross-cultural awareness, competencies and issues involving working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, organisations and communities. Graduates from this course will possess the knowledge required to gain a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 'ways of thinking' by learning more about Indigenous society (knowledges, traditions, and culture), and the appropriate use of protocols when engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their businesses and the wider communities.
