Understanding Environmental Pollution (3111ENV)

This course examines the characteristics of environmental pollutants particularly focussing on air, noise and water pollution. It identifies the properties of the key pollutants, explores the impacts on the environment and humans and provides students with an understanding of principles and concepts of monitoring and modelling of air, noise and water parameters through practical field and laboratory work. It also identifies some of the key management strategies used for noise, water and air pollution prevention. Advised Prerequisite: Completion of 80CP Incompatible: 2111AES Air Pollution and Noise, 3111ENV Air Pollution and Noise.
