Italian In-Country Independent Study Enhanced (3192LHS)

The purpose of this course is to encourage students to further enhance their international experience by including an internship, work experience or other projects during a study abroad period. The course can be taken as part of a short term study abroad program or in conjunction with an exchange program. Students will define the project in consultation with the course convenor and other academic staff from the students' program of study. The assessment is in the form of pre-departure tasks, an online reflective journal, an independent written project and an oral presentation, to be delivered on return in the language of the chosen country and/or in English, depending on the students' level of language proficiency. PREREQUISITES: Students in the Italian Program: students must have successfully completed 2092LHS Italian 2B Written (and, if possible, also 2091LHS Italian 2B Spoken) and be in the second year of their degree. Conservatorium students: need to have achieved a minimum grade of 5 in 2041QCM Italian for Singers 1 and in 2045QCM Italian for Singers 2 (or equivalent). Co-requisites: NIL, Incompatible: 3191LHS Italian In-Country Independent Study Conditions apply: places are limited and final approval rests with the work experience provider.
