The Ecology and Conservation of Communities (3341ENV)

This course aims to develop students' mastery of concepts and practical issues involved in: (1) understanding the structure, function and diversity of both natural and human-dominated ecosystems; (2) the conservation and restoration of communities and ecosystems; and (3) techniques used for research and monitoring in natural and disturbed ecosystems. Incompatible: 3606ENV Conservation Biology; 3341AES Ecology and Conservation of Communities; AES3151 Advanced Community Ecology. Prerequisites: 2051ENV Ecological Theory and Practice AND 2291ENV Experimental Design and Statistics AND 2251ENV Animal Diversity OR 2261ENV Plant Diversity. Students who wish to request recognition of equivalent knowledge obtained in external courses must contact the course convenor before enrolling.
