Supporting young children's pro-social behaviour (3405EDN)

This course explores children's developing understanding of their place in the world and how to interact within it. Students investigate young children's developing awareness of their emotions and behaviours, the impact these have on others, and their participation in increasingly complex social interactions. Within pre-school settings students will observe a child, analyse their social interactions and with the support of teachers and parents, implement a plan to scaffold positive behaviour. To be eligible to attend the Professional Experience component of this course and to complete the course students must demonstrate 80% Attendance and 100% Engagement (see 4.2 for conditions). All Professional Experience courses are designated courses for the purpose of exclusion; if you fail you are listed for exclusion from the program of studies. Prerequisites for this course are: 1999EDN, 2999EDN, 3235EDN and 2024HSV.
