Professional Experience and Learning 3: Safe and Supportive Learning Environments (3701EDN)

Safe and Supportive Learning Environments is the focus of Professional Experience and Learning 3. Professional experience and learning 3 aims to provide opportunities for students to develop knowledge, skills and practices that will enable them to create and maintain safe and supportive learning environments. By focusing on classroom behaviour in context, it is possible to make desired behaviour more functional and successful for all children and to make problem behaviour less effective and efficient. Students will be placed in a primary school setting (Grades Prep - 6), which provides opportunity for teacher practice in these key areas. Students will examine the support for learners in primary classroom and undertake ecological analysis of the learning environment. Students undertake 25 days of professional experience in schools.
