Clinical Dental Sciences 2 (3802DOH)

Clinical Dental Sciences 2 develops a theoretical knowledge of the epidemiology, aetiology, natural history, and pathogenesis of periodontal disease, in order to diagnose a range of periodontal diseases, and to develop clinical skills in the diagnosis, risk assessment, treatment planning and treatment of gingivitis. In addition, students will learn the basics of the identification and diagnosis of head and neck pathologies that are relevant to dentistry. Pre- or corequisites: All Year 2 courses must be successfully completed prior to proceeding to Year 3 courses. Students must be concurrently enrolled in Professional Dental Practice 1. Each assessment item is a mandatory pass component.
