Visions for Tomorrow Stage I (3902QCA)

This course deals with the first stage of a speculative exploration of possible social change and aspirations for Indigenous people in Australian society. It looks at Indigenous cultures of other nations and the application of new technology to indigenous life and culture. Students will be encouraged to create works that bring an Australian Indigenous perspective to bear on such topics as ecology, population growth, space, travel, communication, and international relations in the light of theories about art in a 'post modern' or 'post industrial' era. This subject is essentially about exploring the potential of inventing a new society in response to present and future problems and finding personal, practical and creative solutions for them.
