Specialised Delivery Systems II (4012PHM)

Pharmacy has at its core the discipline of pharmaceutics, which is the study of drug formulations and the processes by which these are designed, manufactured and delivered to the body. Simply stated, pharmaceutics converts drug substances into medicines - delivery systems capable of administering drugs to the body in a safe, efficient, reproducible and convenient manner. Specialised Delivery Systems II provides an in-depth pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical knowledge of advanced drug delivery technologies utilised in medicine and addresses formulation aspects relating to special industries including; cosmetic, dental, veterinary, and traditional, complementary and alternative medicines. The course builds on knowledge gained in 2023PHM Specialised Delivery Systems I. Pre-requisite: 2023PHM Specialised Delivery Systems I.
