Honours Dissertation (4030ENV_P2)

Students enrolled in the Honours program will undertake an Honours Dissertation relevant to their study of urban and environmental planning under the guidance of one or more supervisors appointed by the Honours Convenor. The topic and nature of the Dissertation will be determined through consultation and mutual agreement of the student and supervisor and must be approved by the Honours Convenor. Students in 1658 and 1660 will be required to align the topic of their Honours Research Project to that of their major if they have chosen a major. The Dissertation will involve original research but this can include the collection and analysis of primary data, the analysis of secondary data, or the development of new theoretical or conceptual models. Assessment will comprise a written report of the work, prepared in the form of a thesis and submitted for independent examination by at least two assessors. Students will also be required to make two presentations: one of their research proposals and one describing their work and provisional conclusions. The quality of these presentations will contribute to the overall assessment of the Project. Pre-requisite: Students must have passed 4029ENV Project Proposal in Honours and must have completed 200 credit points or have the permission of the course convenor before enrolling in this course.
