This placement introduces students to the practice field of Community and Public Health Nutrition (CPHN). Students are placed in teams of two or three for 30 days to work on addressing a nutrition problem in a community based setting under the supervision of an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and/or Community and Public Health Nutritionist. Students will conduct a needs assessment, or plan, implement and/or evaluate a program relevant to the work of that setting. The placement will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate practical skills and the application of theoretical knowledge into practice. By the end of the placement students will be assessed on CPHN competencies. Pre-requisites: All Year 3 core courses Co-requisites: 4110AHS Medical Nutrition Therapy Practicum, 4111AHS Food Service Management Practicum.
