Managing Research Projects (6008CCJ)

This course will provide students with the skills required to manage their honours research and future research projects. An integral part of good research is the establishment of parameters within which their research should proceed. Knowledge of the literature in and around the chosen topic is vital to establishing the basis of a good research project. Firstly, students will learn how to plan out the various phases of their research project. Second, students will be guided in the development of research questions and hypotheses for their research. Thirdly, students will be guided in positioning their research in relevant theoretical, empirical and methodological knowledge. Finally students will learn about presenting their research ideas and findings. Students must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice Honours program.
