This second field placement course provides students undertaking the Bachelor of Social Work with the opportunity to again apply their university based learning to practice situations. Students are required to complete 500 hours (approximately 4 days per week for 18 weeks) of practice based learning and engage in professional supervision with a social work qualified field supervisor. The program builds on the skills and understanding achieved during Social Work Field Placement 1. It is the final requirement of the degree program and focuses on facilitating the student's development of the skills, knowledge, attitudes and analyses to enter the field as a social work practitioner. Learning tasks assessed on a pass/fail basis. A strict requirement for this course is that students must undertake and complete pre-placement requirements in the trimester preceding the placement. Students must register for pre-placement by the end of Week 2, Trimester 1 to enrol in a Trimester 2 placement. Students must register for pre-placement by the end of Week 2, Trimester 2 to enrol in a Trimester 1 placement. This placement is complemented by course 4002HSV (Critical Reflective Practice). Prerequisites: 280CP of HSV courses or equivalent including 3012HSV/3112HSV_Y2 Social Work Field Placement 1 and Preparation for Placement 2 requirements. Corequisite: 4002HSV Critical Reflective Practice. Incompatible: 4012HSV and 4112HSV_Y2 Social Work Field Placement 2
