This course covers the fundamental principles of modern synthetic inorganic and organic chemistry. Emphasis is on problem solving, specifically the construction of quite complex organic molecules from easily available starting materials using contemporary synthetic methods. Topics also include major areas of research in modern inorganic chemistry and organometallic/materials chemistry. Restriction: Students must be enrolled in one of the following programs: 1330 Bachelor of Science Advanced (Honours), 1418 Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours), 1540 Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours), 2112 Bachelor of Science (Honours), 2125 Bachelor of Science (Honours).
