Appropriate communication skills are an important aspect of any mathematical career and the ability to present mathematical arguments and results in an accurate, coherent and logical manner, and at a level appropriate for the intended recipient, is an essential attribute for any potential employee. During this course the student will receive instruction on writing and seminar presentation, with a particular relevance for the discipline of Applied Mathematics. In parallel with this, the course will also examine an area of Applied Mathematics at an advanced level. The assessment for the course will be constructed in such a way that it will allow the student to demonstrate oral and written communication skills in relation to the mathematics that has been studied.
