Introduction to Economic Evaluation of Health Care (7000MED)

This postgraduate level course has been designed specifically to provide introductory level knowledge and skills to assist students to (1) apply economic evaluation methods to evaluate health care interventions and services, (2) critique existing economic evaluations in health care, and (3) interpret the results of an economic evaluation and their implications for health care decision-makers. It is intended for individuals who want to develop their understanding and skills in applied economic evaluation in the health sector. Consistent with the applied focus of this course, students will undertake hands-on tutorials as well as lectures, and a supervised project activity in which students will apply an economic evaluation in health care. The course is delivered as an intensive course to support participation by individuals currently working in the health sector as well as full time students.
