Dissertation Preparation (7010HLS)

This course is offered as a one-week intensive course run during Orientation week (O week). Students are presented with a framework to develop their research proposal. Students will be expected to clearly define their research topic and communicate this in both written and verbal forms. Students will develop proficiency in searching databases, compiling literature relevant to their dissertation topic and critically reviewing the literature to identify gaps. They will formulate their research aims and explain the significance of their research to an audience of their peers. Finally students will also be required to identify research methods and analytical tools that can be utilized in their study.
