Complex policy interventions take significant work to get to implementation, and from there much more needs to be done. This course provides the theoretical and practical frameworks to implement policy. It provides perspectives on implementation, including problems and dilemmas that come from the top-down and from the bottom-up. Exploring the historic and contemporary patterns of interaction between levels of government and between the public, private and non-profit sectors will add vital context to the process of policy formulation, design, strategy and execution. The course explores the nexus between theory and practice using case studies from all layers of government and in international organisations. You'll also develop soft and hard skills essential for advising decision makers and providing guidance on policy development and delivery, such as leadership, communication, collaboration and persuasion. As a graduate, you will understand the challenges of implementing policy and the instruments that are available to respond to them. Incompatible: 7210GIR Implementation and Service Delivery
