Advanced Quantitative Methods and Econometrics (7317AFE)

This course covers a series of discrete topics in quantitative empirical research techniques which are of particular relevance to students in the commerce and economics related Honours and PhD programs. Influential research papers will also be introduced to illustrate the use of these techniques within these domains. Topics include linear regression, VAR, co-integration, discrete choice models, event studies, volatility models, time-series analysis, panel-data analysis and cross-sectional analysis. Prerequisite: 7011GBS Quantitative Methods or 7310AFE Econometric Methods or equivalent ie 3305AFE Applied Econometrics.
