Contemporary Influences on Secondary Schooling (7403EDN)

In this course students will examine a range of policies, practices and legislative requirements that impact on teaching in secondary school contexts. It will particularly highlight the constantly evolving nature of these and the impact they have on educational practices. Key policies addressed will be those relating to: student pathways into, within and out of secondary schooling; teacher professionalism; and ethical behaviour and responsibilities. A further component of this course will be consideration of how policies, practices and requirements are communicated to parents and the broader community.
