Pedagogies for Engaged Learning: Primary (7752EDN)

In this course, students identify and apply pedagogies and practices that create a positive learning environment, support student motivation, address diverse learning needs, and facilitate positive engagement in learning. Students consider different sources of data and evidence of student learning, and its role in planning, teaching and assessment for learning. This learning is applied to and drawn from a full-time 20 day professional experience placement in schools. The course consists of two non-graded assessment items one of which is the school based professional experience component that evidences professional knowledge, practice and learning across the APST appropriate for middle stage placements. Prerequisites: All students must have completed 7750EDN, 7164EDN, 7111EDN and 7113EDN before enrolling in this course. Students must reach an 80% threshold for tutorial attendance and active participation in the lead up to placement for all Professional Experience courses. Students who cannot attend the full tutorial and thus cannot actively participate during the tutorial will not be able to proceed with the placement and complete the course.
