Work Integrated Learning - Placement (7822ICT)

In this course, students conduct an industry-based placement within a commercial or industrial environment under professional supervision while managing their learning and course assessment. The placement provides students with the opportunity to undertake a substantial body of work that has an industry application and brings together the wide range of knowledge and skills already developed in earlier courses within their degree program. The aim is for students to develop the necessary attributes, skills and competencies expected in a graduate/postgraduate professional while working within a relevant workplace while under the guidance and direction of an Industry Partner. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the Sciences Work Ready PLUS (https://www.griffith.edu.au/griffith-sciences/learning-teaching/sciences-plus) prior to taking WIL. The work completed in Work Ready Plus will contribute to the grade for this course. To be eligible for this course, students must have registered online with the Griffith Sciences Partnership Office in the trimester prior to enrolment. Please contact wil-gs@griffith.edu.au to register. If your registration is successful, you will be given permission to enrol prior to the start of the trimester. Prerequisites: must have completed 80CP which define the program with at least 20CP from the major and have a cumulative GPA of 5.0 at the time of registration.
