This course introduces students to the practice of second language teaching. It does this through a combination of lectures/workshops together with classroom observation of practising second language teachers. To facilitate their observation, students will be introduced to techniques of classroom-based research. They will use these techniques to focus on major issues which arise in the second language classroom. Students will use their developing understanding of second language teaching to plan and teach classes for second language learners. PREREQUISITE/CO-REQUISITE: 7901LHS must be completed before enrolling in 7903LHS, or 7901LHS and 7903LHS can be enrolled in together in the same trimester.
