Managing Change Through Responsible Leadership (7910EHR)

Leaders in today's organizations are challenged by one constant, change. This course focuses on responsible leadership of change i.e. leadership that not only anticipates, plans and implements change efficiently and effectively but does so in an environmentally sustainable way, with a high regard for ethical principles and due care for the interests of stakeholders. Our point of view is both practical and based on theory and contemporary thinking from world leading bodies such as the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (www.grli.org), United Nations Global Compact (www.unglobalcompact.org) and European Foundation for Management (www.efmd.org). Since our focus is on leaders who are also effective managers of change, we will study the principles and practices of diagnosing and communicating the need for change, gaining commitment, fostering learning, creativity and innovation, managing change across functional, structural and cultural boundaries and building long term, sustainable change capabilities. All students are expected to begin studies at the first designated session (face to face or online).
