Visual Culture (COM120)

This subject will provide students with an understanding of the ways that they can anlayse visual communication. They will critique, decode and deconstruct contemporary visual culture. The unit will explore different modes of visual culture. The exercises will enable students to anlayse images and genres, including paintings, photographs, advertisements, television, animation, and film. It will develop and extend their grasp and vocabulary of visual language, visual forms and visual genres. Prerequisites: COM110 Intro.
