This course is an opportunity for experiential learning. It involves overseas travel to three countries of significance to Islamic civilisation: Malaysia, Spain, and Turkiye . We will visit Kuala Lumpur, Cordoba, Granada, and Istanbul and engage in various in-country experiences including tours of mosques, museums, historical sites, and other places of social and cultural significance. We will meet scholars, students and other locals to gain a first-hand understanding of Islam and Muslim cultures, and you will develop a range of intercultural skills and knowledge. NOTE: It is recommended that students have successfully completed 80 credit points of their undergraduate degree, including 1603LHS (Islam in the Modern World).
