In this course, students will identify the requirements and procedures relating to refusals, compliance and other sanctions, appeals and reviews with respect to visas. Students will also review and appraise alternative pathways to meet client needs. They will learn how to develop appropriate strategies for providing effective advices to clients particularly in relation to character cancellations and sanctions, cancellation of sponsorships, exclusions and deportations. This course is the fifth of eight courses that comprise the Graduate Diploma of Australian Migration Law and Practice. The Graduate Diploma of Australian Migration Law and Practice is a prescribed academic qualification for registration as a migration agent in Australia. The companion course to 7133LAW is 7233LAW (Practitioner Focus) which simultaneously builds on the practical background to immerse students in a virtual office environment. Like the other companion courses in the Graduate Diploma Program, in 7233LAW students will learn and apply practitioner skills they need to effectively integrate the legislative content they acquire in 7133LAW. This course is offered in online mode only.
