For Domestic and those International students not required to complete the English Language Enhancement course

Standard program (Trimester 1 entry only)

For the award of Bachelor of Aviation (BAvn), you must successfully complete 240 credit points, made up of the core courses AND

  • 10 credit points of Level 1 listed electives;
  • 20 credit points of Level 2 or Level 3 listed electives.
Other program requirements

You must successfully complete:

  • no more than 100 credit points of Level 1 courses (the first digit of a course code denotes the level);
  • at least 60 credit points of Level 3 courses or higher.

Professional Entry pathway for students with 80 credit points of advanced standing

For the award of Bachelor of Aviation (BAvn), a student admitted with 80 credit points of advanced standing must successfully complete 160 credit points, made up of the core courses AND

  • 100 credit points of listed electives.
Other program requirements

You must successfully complete:

  • no more than 20 credit points of Level 1 courses (the first digit of a course code denotes the level);
  • at least 60 credit points of Level 3 courses or higher.

Professional Entry pathway for students with 160 credit points of advanced standing

For the award of Bachelor of Aviation (BAvn), a student admitted with 160 credit points of advanced standing must successfully complete 80 credit points, made up of the core courses AND

  • 50 credit points of listed electives.
Other program requirements

You must successfully complete:

  • all courses must be either Level 2 and 3 courses (the first digit of a course code denotes the level);
  • at least 60 credit points of Level 3 courses or higher.

For International students required to complete the English Language Enhancement course

Standard program (Trimester 1, on-campus only)

For the award of Bachelor of Aviation (BAvn), you must successfully complete 240 credit points, made up of the core courses AND

  • 10 credit points for the English Language Enhancement course (5903LHS);
  • 20 credit points of Level 2 or Level 3 listed electives.
Other program requirements

You must successfully complete:

  • no more than 100 credit points of Level 1 courses (the first digit of a course code denotes the level);
  • at least 60 credit points of Level 3 courses or higher.

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training. This qualification is accredited as an AQF Level 7 - Bachelor Degree.

English Language Enhancement

All undergraduate International students are required to complete an English Language Enhancement Course unless specific criteria are met as specified in Section 5.0 Qualifications Procedure.
