For the award of Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Business [LLB (Hons)/BBus], you must successfully complete 440 credit points, made up of the core courses AND

  • 100 credit points of listed Law electives AND
  • 60 credit points for a Business major and 30 credit points of free-choice electives OR
  • 80 credit points for an extended Business major and 10 credit points of free-choice electives OR
  • 90 credit points for an Accounting (extended) major.

Other program requirements

You must successfully complete:

  • no more than 120 credit points of Level 1 courses (the first digit of a course code denotes the level);
  • at least 60 credit points of Level 3 courses or higher.

Bachelor of Business

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.

Classification of Honours

This degree with Honours may be awarded in the following classes:

  • Class I Honours
  • Class IIA Honours
  • Class IIB Honours
  • Class III Honours

The class of Honours to be awarded to each student in this degree will be determined on the basis of the Grade Point Average (GPA) achieved by a student in all attempts at LAW core courses and listed Law electives as outlined in the Dissertation Management Procedure.

The nominated courses are as follows:

  • 180 credit points of LAW core courses;
  • 100 credit points of listed LAW elective courses.

Students achieving a GPA of less than 4.000 will be awarded an AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Laws.

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training. The Bachelor of Business is accredited as an AQF Level 7 - Bachelor Degree.The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is accredited as an AQF Level 8 - Bachelor Honours Degree.
