To be eligible for the award of the Bachelor of Music (Honours) [BMus(Hons)], a student must acquire 80 credit points as specified below:

  • gain 20 credit points for the research design courses;
  • gain 40 credit points for the research project (dissertation OR dissertation plus creative output);
  • gain 20 credit points from the listed electives.

Note: There are no designated courses for the purposes of exclusion.

Honours

Classification of Honours

This degree with Honours may be awarded in the following classes:

  • Class I Honours
  • Class IIA Honours
  • Class IIB Honours
  • Class III Honours

The class of Honours to be awarded to each student in this degree will be determined by the relevant Assessment Board on the basis of a Program GPA and a minimum percentage for the Dissertation as outlined in the Dissertation Management Procedure.

The courses contributing to the minimum Honours Weighted Average (HWA) are 6000QCM_P1 Honours Research Project 1 and 6000QCM_P2 Honours Research Project 2.
