To be eligible for the award of Master of Music Research (MMusRes), a student must acquire 120 credit points as specified below:

  • gain 40 credit points for the prescribed courses and
  • gain 80 credit points for the Music Production and Presentation dissertation courses.

Progress review requirements

Completion of progress reporting requirements is a condition of continued candidature for higher degree research programs. The following progress review requirements must be completed for the Master of Music Research program:

  • completion of the Confirmation of Candidature Milestone within 6 months (equivalent full-time) of commencement
  • completion of the Thesis and Candidature Review Milestone within 12-18 months (equivalent full-time) of commencement.

Note: For Master of Music Research candidates, under normal circumstances, the aggregated coursework assessment requirements from 8910QCM Artistic Research Preparation and 8909QCM Practice-Based Music Research will form the basis of the candidate's confirmation of candidature requirements.
