Trimester 1 and Trimester 2
If you want to become an architect, this double degree is a complete pathway to meeting your academic and professional requirements. You'll build upon your foundational skills and knowledge to learn advanced design skills, grounded in creative problem-solving and sustainable design practices.
In your fourth year, you will need to successfully complete the Bachelor of Architectural Design to progress to the Master of Architecture.
To be classed as a full-time student, you are required to enrol in a minimum number of credit points each standard study period. The minimum credit points for full-time enrolment in this program is 30 credit points.
Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 are deemed standard study periods. As Trimester 3 is a non-standard study period, continuing students moving from one year to the next will not be required to study during this trimester to be eligible for student income support.
Domestic students who commence in Trimester 3 may be eligible for student income support from the onset of study provided they are enrolled full-time in this study period.
Please refer to the Australian Government website for more details.
This program is offered full-time on-campus only at the Gold Coast campus. The program includes some Trimester 3 core courses which may be offered in intensive mode.
Taking a leave of absence from this program is permitted, subject to conditions outlined in the Enrolment Procedure.
Work-integrated learning activities integrate theoretical learning with its application in the workplace. The inclusion of work-integrated learning activities in this degree program demonstrates Griffith's commitment to preparing its graduates for success in their working life.
The second trimester of the third year of the program includes a compulsory industry focused project.
You'll be prepared to work as an architect in private practice, consulting firms and in local and state government. You may want to specialise your skills in a specific building type, building design or construction procurement with further research or study in urban design.
Professional recognition for the Bachelor of Architectural Design/Master of Architecture will be sought by the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia, the Board of Architects of Queensland, the Australian Institute of Architects and the Commonwealth Association of Architects.
These fees are only applicable to domestic students who are not Commonwealth supported including:
