About this program

AN INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATION

Begin your teaching education with this Undergraduate Certificate. It includes four first-year courses from our Bachelor of Education, so you can experience tertiary level study without committing to the entire degree. You'll graduate with a Certificate that's recognized by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and which is a gateway to a Bachelor degree.

The courses included in this Certificate introduce you to the theory that underpins the work of educators. You'll explore the work of teachers in historic and cultural context and the ways in which social beliefs and attitudes influence the design and delivery of different forms of education.

The factors that influence students' educational experiences and outcomes, including for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, are also important lessons you will learn. By graduation, you'll understand what it means to be a professional, ethical and quality educator in the 21st century with an informed knowledge of diversity and social justice.

Industry and expert connections

In this Certificate, you will learn in a tertiary setting in classrooms led by our experienced tutors and lecturers. It's a great opportunity to meet new people and find out what it's like to study a Bachelor degree at university. Your classmates may become important connections as you continue your study.

Please note, students are required to complete their studies in 2021. Any remaining courses that are commenced in 2022 will not be Commonwealth supported under the Job Ready Graduates Package funding from the Australian Government, and will be charged at a full fee paying place.

As part of the Australian Government's Job-ready Graduates Package, this program has limited Commonwealth Supported places available. If you are an eligible Commonwealth Supported student, some of the cost of your Certificate will be subsidised by the Australian Government. To find out more, visit our website.
