This program has been withdrawn and will not be available for commencing (new) students after Semester 2-2014.

Students currently enrolled in this program (continuing students) will be able to complete their studies and graduate with this award.

Prospective (future) students interested in this area are referred to the Bachelor of Public Relations and Communication (1490) at the Gold Coast.

The Bachelor of Communication will help you to develop the knowledge and skills to open the door to a range of creatively stimulating commercial careers. The program encompasses communication skills and techniques, including screen production, analysis of the mass media and communication industries, marketing, public relations, creative writing, new technologies journalism and photography. You wil also have the opportunity to be placed into internships in the media and other related areas.

You willl select two majors with at least one major chosen from the core major list. The core majors list is structured to focus strongly on courses that emphasise direct communication methods. You will have the opportunity to be placed into internships in the media and other related areas, which will help you to sharpen your skills and form useful contacts with potential employers. The elective majors list combines communication skills learning with associated skills and analysis.
