Field education is an important component of the social work program, giving you the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge and skills with practical experience in group work, interpersonal helping, community work, social action, assessment and casework, research and evaluation and social policy analysis.
Through this degree you will become highly proficient in all core areas of social work and develop critical thinking skills grounded in the values and ethics of the profession - promoting social justice, diversity, equity and a commitment to the rights and needs of the people with whom you work.
You will study society and social arrangements, human services provision, counselling, and human behaviour and development, as well as specialised social work courses, and some electives.
Honours may be awarded to designate the meritorious performance of a graduate in this program.
