About this program

The Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies is a 40 credit point program that will provide postgraduate students with a foundation in the aetiology and features of ASD, and will deliver courses concerning theory and practice of ASD in the core areas of communication, behaviour support, social-emotional learning and curriculum in order to provide postgraduate students with a comprehensive understanding of learners with ASD and their needs, along with the practical skills to meet these needs. Students completing the Graduate Certificate have the option of articulating into the Master of Autism Studies program.

This program will address an area of acute need as determined by Queensland Department of Education and Training and have been developed to provide postgraduate students with specific skills in autism to more effectively conduct education programs for learners with autism from early childhood to high school.
