The Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management is a bespoke program designed to suit the professional development needs of middle level managers in industry and government, enhancing existing practice and preparing for more senior leadership roles.
Developed and taught by industry professionals in active leadership roles, this degree is focused on practical organisational challenges. You'll learn about contemporary management and leadership practice and apply this knowledge to current scenarios from your workplace.
You'll develop an understanding of the different types and purposes of teams, and learn how to boost team performance through effective leadership. You'll hone your creative thinking skills and be equipped to convert great ideas into reality through collaboration and positive risk-taking. As a graduate, you'll have the skills and knowledge to translate vision and strategy into action and effectively manage transformation in your organisation.
This program is offered part-time. Students will complete one course per trimester.
The teaching of the program involves processes and assessment which draw upon a students current and prior professional experience and allowing effective integration with work.
Graduates of this program will be well equipped with 21st century leadership and management skills that are highly valued by employers.
With a postgraduate qualification, you will be well positioned for senior management roles and may find career opportunities in a variety or areas such as private enterprise, government, and not-for-profit organisations.
Students who successfully complete this Graduate Certificate will be eligible for entry to the Master of Business Administration (5158). Students will receive 40 credit points towards the requirements of the Masters program.
